Dean's Party

Happy 1st Birthday Dean! He enjoyed having a few friends over and eating pizza and cupcakes at our house. He didn't really dig into the cake to much but he did like it! The first and last picture are at Dean's Grandma Perron's. Grandma and Aunt Brooke took Dean to the Pet store after he opened some cool presents!

Corfu, Greece

We got on a bus and rode 20 minutes out of town to the famous Achilleon Palace which Elizabeth Hapsburg built because she loved Greece so much. She was very fond of Greek Mythology and Achilles was her favorite she had many statues of the Gods all around and in her home. The view from her back courtyard was beautiful overlooking the town and the coast. It was fun to tour her home and then we saw the famous Mouse Island and went to the big shopping center and ate some local cuisine some delicious eggplant lasagna it was scrumptious!
Bloopers from the trip
I thought i would show off my balancing skills on a short bus ride to our plane on the runway in Paris. Seconds later the driver hit the brakes and I had to adjust my feet to keep from falling over. As I did this I stomped on someones foot behind me and it sounded like an old lady yelping loudly I didn't dare turn around. But of course I had to and there was a man in his nice business suit. Sorry I said and he said no worries it'll be something to remember the trip by. Luckily I didn't have the seat next to him.
On our 7am flight from Venice to Paris I noticed the front of the plane was rather empty. I thought it would be nice to have my own row and get a little more sleep. As we took off and the instance the seat belt sign went off I left my seat near the back of the plane and swiftly moved to the 3rd row. A minute later the flight attendant got up and closed some curtains 2 rows behind me, and as I was putting it together that I was now seated in first class the flight attendant put a delicious breakfast in front of me. My delicious breakfast consisted of a few slices of cheese with a baguette, some fresh fruit and a creme brulle. Needless to say Jeff was rather jealous. I thought to bad this isn't the flight from Paris to Seattle!
Ok for the last silly thing that happened and don't ask me why they all happened to me. As Jeff and I stroll through the streets of Venice I start to feel thirsty and see a cute little water fountain. It has a beautiful stream of water and I have to bend down quite low to get a big drink. Jeff is baffled and looking at me and the fountain and I come up saying why is this fountain so low. He says yeah I don't know what that is for but I don't think you should have drank out of it. Then I realize it is for pets/dogs. After having a bad stomach flu on our last vacation. I began to get worried that I was going to get sick. The rest of that day I was overly paranoid that I was going to get sick any minute. Thank heavens I was fine and never got sick from the cute little dog watering fountain.

Santorini, Greece

Ok it was difficult to pick a favorite destination on this amazing vacation with my sweetheart but this is at the top of the list. As you can see in the picture there is a steep cliff up to the top to reach the city and our options were take a cable car up or walk up 600 and some steps or last but not least ride a donkey and of course I couldn't pass up the only chance I have ever had to ride a donkey, and yes this was the stinkiest choice but very fun Jeff had the bigger donkey and it was wearing a metal mouth guard and I soon learned why every time my donkey tried to pass Jeff's it would try to bite my donkey! It was definately an experience. We reached the top in about 20 minutes around 8am. We rented a 4wheeler and headed for the other end of the island, and after stoping at a bakery on the way and eating a very sweet and gooey pastry. We checked out a couple different beaches and found a very nice soft black sand beach where we swam in the ocean and relaxed. Then we sat for lunch at a restaurant right on the beach, and this is where the waiter brought me out a whole fish on my plate which was quite intimidating at first but ended up being the best meal and fish I have ever had mmmmm good little mullet fish. And the beauty of the dark rock cliffs and the white wash buildings is breath taking. I am sure you have seen this island on many movies like Mama Mia and Sisterhood of the Traveling pants are a few.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

This was our first stop on our cruise and Wow was it cool. We went to the old city that was build inside a huge city wall that is built up on the side of the cliff over the ocean. The Croatians surrounded the city with this huge city wall to protect themselves from the Greeks and Romans that tried many times to take the land. Inside the city is beautiful churches an old pharmacy and the streets are made with beautiful white marble. It took Jeff and I an hour to walk completely around the city wall.(that is without a tour guide)

The beginning of our awesome vacation we first spent a day in Venice where we meet up with Emily and her roommate Kasey! We all loved the pizza, and all of the beautiful old buildings and a city on the water incredible!

Its definitely been a fun with Jeff and Kendra and Dean kinda summer! We started the summer with having my parents out to visit for a week. Then for the 4th of July Jeff's family came to Lake Chelan and we had a full house and a blast. August it seem has become our month to travel we started with the Corbridge family reunion in Soda Springs luckily Dean is a great road tripper. We loved spending time with family and catching up with relatives we rarely get to see. We floated the river and only lost a few tubes due to hitting the rocks and yes mine was one of those tubes. Then we finished up with the Perron family reunion in Sun Valley Idaho where we celebrated Grandma Perrons 100th birthday. Also enjoyed a 12 mile bike ride in which Jeff pulled both Dean and cousin Brinley behind his bike in the little trailer. We went to an awesome Ice Show where Evan from dancing with the stars was the highlighter of the night it was an incredible show! Of course inbetween all of our travels we enjoyed lake days with play group friends. However it has been a fairly cool summer, but a great one! Here are some of my favorite pictures and can you believe it Dean is already 8 months the time has gone so fast!

Dean and Brinley

The last picture is Dean riding on the wood horse that Grandpa Hinckley made for him! The next to pictures are of a photo shot taken of Dean and cousin Brinley at Grandma and Grandpa Perron's of them in there tourist Hawaiian outfits that G&G Perron bought for them in Hawaii and I loved the picture of them holding hands oh they love each other already! The first picture is Dean getting his first hair cut from Aunt Nicole, and I would probably be sad if he wasn't born needing a haircut. The poor baby had hair covering his ears and almost in his eyes and don't forget the tail in back that I had to cut the first week but it went to good use in his scrapbook!

Things I love about Dean

1. I love when he lays his head on my chest and lets me cuddle him however I usually have to be standing up for him to do this because sitting down he has to look side to side checking things out which is cute too.
2. When I hold him in a cradle position and he licks my arm it tickles and is so adorable.
3. I love when he gets out of the bath and I put him on the floor on a blanket by the fire place and he gets his legs and arms moving so fast. I wish I could say he is doing this because he is excited for his upcoming massage but he still flexes his muscles when I lotion him down.
4. When I make silly faces at him and it makes him smile.
5. I love when he is really tired but trying to fight nap time and his eyes flutter open and closed and his eyes role up in his head.
6. I love the cute sighs and noises he makes when he is gulping down his bottle.
7. I really like that he can self sooth and go to sleep at night all by himself in his crib.
8. Along with the last one I love when he gets all of his fingers in his mouth and sucks on them. It makes me laugh and reminds me of grade school and trying to fit your whole fist in your mouth.
9. I love seeing Jeff hold Dean on his lap after work and watching them watch TV together.
10. I love running my fingers through his hair and watching him totally melt in my arms.

I'm sure there are many more things I love about Dean but I just wanted to share a few!

Well what can I say I just love showing off what a cute little baby we have. I know there has been a bit of a scare about the baby slings being dangerous but if you put your precious baby in the sling right then it works really well and both baby and mommy are happy. I get a lot done around the house with Dean in this sling or front pack. However Dean is a bit dramatic at first and will grunt a for a minute and it is quite funny.
Also bath time another favorite he just loves it and this wash pod is nice cause he fits in it pretty snug and I don't put much water therefore he can sit and be warm and play for a little bit. Then he gets rinsed off with the facet sprayer, which gets him ready for showering mmm the best of both a bath and a shower every morning. Oh the hard life of a baby!
Dean cuddling up to Grandma Perron oh how sweet! He just loved having his Grandparents come watch him while his parents were in Seattle having lasik eye surgery. Wow that is the coolest thing I was seriously so blind and now I can see. I love being able to just wake and not feel for my glasses, and getting up in the middle of the night with Dean is much faster. Thanks to my sweetie no more glasses or contacts.
It has been so fun watching Dean grow up and change everyday. He is just so cute and easy to love. He is so much more wiggly and making fun high pitch noises and best of all smiling more!

Haley thank you for coming over Friday and taking Dean's newborn picture's and some adorable family pictures! What a joy it has been to have Dean in our family he is so alert and content. He made it through a 2 hour photo shoot putting on new outfits and then getting in his birthday suit and he never cried nor did he have any accidents before we finished. However he did take a 2 hour nap after we wore our little model out! Then the best part is he slept 9 hours last night!
